Urgent carpet drying assistance needed!!!

Have people coming in 2 hours. Just had to deep clean the carpet. It's quite wet. I didn't think it would be this wet. I'm an idiot!

19 degrees here, overcast with a slight breeze.

Also have a good dehumidifier.

Do I open windows and doors to dry it or close the windows and doors and use the dehumidifier on high?

I presume doing both at the same time won't be beneficial as I'm essentially then dehumidifying the whole planet.

Which is mire effective?

Help!!!!!

Use the carpet cleaner with no water in it and suck it up - it shouldn't be left soaking wet in any case, maybe touch damp at worst. Keep going basically!

I would leave windows and doors open today if want enough where you are and maybe dehumidifier overnight if can stand the mouse. Tell your visitors the carpet is damot still and they can keep their shoes on.

House not bloody mouse!

Try and get as much water up as possible - is your carpet washer working properly? Mine are never wet after cleaning, just slightly damp?

I’d go for the closing the room off and dehumidifying the crap out of it.

Good luck!

Hair dryer will help

Comedycook · 14/05/2023 13:27

Lay clean dry towels on carpets and walk over them..it helps absorb excess water....I'd also put heating on and windows open

saxendaqs · 14/05/2023 13:31

I've sucked up as much as I possibly can! No more is coming through the machine.

Will try towels! Good idea

Ok the breeze has totally disappeared I'm closing the windows and dehumidifying!

I'd shut the room away with the dehumidifier on high, after doing the towel thing.

It didn't dry in time! Never mind. Thanks for your help
