Pushing 50. Spoke to Gp last thing Friday evening. He's sent a message to pathology to test everything. I've lost 2 stone since October and need to phone the emergency number on Monday.

Not sure what to expect really.

Well I know what to expect having my blood taken 🤣. I'm not that daft.

Hi there.
I am 35 and just recently last month went to my gp as I have lost 2stone for no reason.
I had blood test came back fine.
then because I am carrying on each week loosing more I was sent to the hospital to have more bloods tumor markers the nurse checked my whole body for lumps and bumps. And asked about any other symptoms I have had. Could I ask have you just had weight loss or other symptoms.
mines constipation but Iv had a FIT test came back fine.

I’d say you are quite young for a blood cancer although saying that there are so many types. Do you have illnesses or any other symptoms that take ages to go away? Tiredness? Bruising? Lack of appetite?

Probably not very helpful but for various reasons blood tests are inconclusive. Some of us (raises hand) don’t have elevated CEA levels when we have cancer, and there are other things that can make your levels rise. So it’s not as straightforward as it seems, but apparently does have its uses.
I suppose I’m trying to say don’t panic, you won’t suddenly get a blood test result saying you have cancer?
Good to know that your doctor is taking it seriously and ruling out the more worrying potential causes first.

because I have lost so much weight for no reason at all in the past 3months they are checking everything I even had a chest X-ray. Everything so far has come back fine. I went to the rapid diagnostic service at the hospital on wed and had more blood test done which I thought my gp had already requested but he didn’t. It is a worry. Just wonder the lady who wrote on the thread if she had any other symptoms with her 2stone weight loss.
can’t say I have any other symptoms other than really bad constipation. Tiredness ??? Not really.
its more the unintentional weight loss that’s a worry for me as Iv never had weight drop off me so quick at all.
