Highgate cemetery access?

Bit of a weird one, I know! Basically we've done the East side and my relative has booked a tour of the West side - but he's in a wheelchair. He seems determined but all I've seen online is that it has steep paths and two flights of steps, which will make it impossible for him. Is there anyone who could shed any light on whether it's even possible for him to go?? It's about two hours from us so I really don't want a wasted trip!

TIA :)

haven’t been for years but from memory, what you read on the website says it all. The parking is also very difficult.

I've been several times and yes - I'm afraid the west side is tricky access wise. There are steps, steep, rambling paths etc. the whole pace is full of very uneven surfaces and is wonderfully atmospheric but unfortunately I think he'd struggle.

I have been on one of the tours of Highgate and think it would be tough to get around in a wheelchair. cemeteryclub.wordpress.com/?mibextid=Zxz2cZ might have some virtual tours/ video footage that would give you an idea of the terrain.

Thanks everyone. I've fed back the information and I'm waiting to hear what he says next. It's sad because he had a stroke and doesn't get out much so he places huge emphasis on the trips we can do.
