We are staying in the countryside near Bergerac with our just turned 3 year old.

Has anyone been to the area with young children and can recommend stuff? I went as a young adult but never with DC.

Go and see the World Twanging a Ruler off the End of the Table Championship, held there every year

Sorry, I have no helpful advice, but that's one of my favourite jokes 😄

Most towns have a swimming pool, usually outdoors. Usually a kids playground. La Jamaye, bit of a drive but huge lake with “beach” areas google le grand etang de La Jamaye. Free kayaks, life guards on duty, showers and toilets ( decent) restaurants, ice cream etc.. There are possibly others closer.
In Bergerac you can do a boat trip, the boat is a replica I think of an old ship. Bergerac old town is beautiful. Just a bit lower than the second cirano de Bergerac stature ( there’s two, one is all white, one different colours) there is a lovely toy shop that sells all wooden toys.
I’m trying to remember where the aquarium is with the replica historic village next door, lovely for children and nice picnic areas too. I’m sure it has Bleu in the name. Will phone a friend and come back to you.

@Toomanylatenightprogs that sounds great, thank you. I'd not come across the aquarium!

We have a pool where we are staying and will look for the nearest river beaches.
