Whatever happened to Yazz?

We ended up singing her lovely single the other day at work, felt really good and I've got it on my playlist. But it made us wonder what happened, why didn't she do more?

Who else is sorely missed, from the music scene?

I loved that song!

According to google, she is now a teacher in Spain.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 13/05/2023 13:24

She did a few others after the only way is up, joined Coldcut for Doctor in the house, recorded fine time and stand up for your love. Had a few albums too.

Stick to the teaching is my advice

Otis clay sang the original and it was played at nsoul niters then dumped after yazz cover version.

She was at a local festival a couple of years ago

Your work sounds fun.

£20 says she will be on the masked singer in the next few years

Awful song

Ruth Langsford shares my Mum's dance moves. Who knew?

@Northernsouloldies
Thanks for that info.
I've just listened to it, so much better than the cover!

Doctorin the house was actually before her solo stuff.

@rose69 it has its moments!

Thanks for the input guys; I agree, it's not the 'best song ever' and I'm more of a rock chick... but I really love her exuberance and the timbre to her voice, it always makes me feel happy!

She became a born again Christian, and said that she had been tempted by all manner of poor choices when she was successful. I went and saw her when she was doing a Christian speaking tour. (Because I was intrigued, not because I am tempted by religion).

I liked Lisa Stansfield at that time too. I havent heart anything about her for years and she used to be all over the shop.
