Have just seen a news story that two of the 276 girls kidnapped in Nigeria by a rebel group called Boko Haram have been rescued and returned to their families. Over 100 girls are still missing.
I remember this was a huge story back then.
This story is being reported in quite cheerful tones, but the photo in the AP article is heart breaking.
Both of the girls have been forcibly married several times, both have toddlers and one gave birth to a second child weeks after her rescue. The look on her face is so empty. I imagined if she was my daughter, how would you begin to get over an experience like that.
I'm praying for the rest of those girls

Pray they are able to pick up the pieces of their lives. God love them x

The poor girls, I cannot even imagine what they have been through. I hope they can find whatever gives them comfort and solace.

The look on that poor young woman's face is going to haunt me for a long time.

I remember a father being interviewed at the time.

He was confident his daughter would die rather than become Muslim. He found that comforting.

I hope their families welcome them home. I don't want to think of the alternative.

I've only just realised it's 9 years since all those girls were taken. I can't help wonder if those children are the only babies they have give birth too.
