Stomach constantly in knots due to stress - any remedies??

Just that. I suffer from anxiety and there's a lot happening at the moment, nothing bad, just general stuff, but I am very easily stressed and my stomach is really bearing the brunt of it. I often have this at a low level but it's ramped up the last few days and I'm sitting here with a hot water bottle on my belly as that's the only thing that seems to ease it.

I'm certain it's stress related as, if I'm distracted sufficiently for a short while, it eases! I woke up slowly this morning, aware my stomach was fine, and then immediately I'm aware, it kicks in!

It feels cramp like, but slightly different and there's no 'digestive issues'. Didn't think painkillers would make a different but not sure.

If you have this, is there anything you can recommend to ease the pain? I'm going out soon and can't carry around a hot water bottle....

exercise outside.

honestly, a walk outside will work to some degree. even 10 minutes. concentrate on your breathing.

My mum takes Kalms for this

I don't often find herbs helpful but I sometimes have these in addition to usual meds and it helps.

@greenacrylicpaint - yes, that would work for sure. Sometimes do this listening to podcasts and it's great. I go to the gym and it generally calms down then too. Will have a walk later if rain holds off.

@EmmaEmerald Have heard of Kalms, maybe even tried them years ago. Will look into them. Thank you.

Ah yes this is horrible. I've had this before. Hot tea any help? I found swimming made it better, the water relaxed my muscles. It's probably not just your stomach muscles you're holding tense.

There is an exercise too, which I've read about but haven't tried, where you purposefully tense then release your muscles to help you relax www.verywellmind.com/progressive-muscle-relaxation-pmr-2584097

@WhiteClover Not sure about tea, I only have two cups a day, morning and night. Thinking about it, it didn't help this morning! Will have a look at that exercise, thank you.
