Car boot sales

How much change would you take to a car boot sale?

It's my first time selling. Most items will be cheap and low value (Kids toys, clothes, unused kitchen gadgets).
I want to have enough but also not be too cash heavy in case of theft.

Tips and words of wisdom for selling are all appreciated.

I'd take about £20 worth and think about what your prices will be so if everything is going to be £1, £2, etc then just have pound coins and if some things will be 50p then take all 50ps. If some things will be £5 then bring fivers. Most people bring change anyway so you will get more quite quickly. Take food and drink and a folding chair with you.

Oh and group things together by price and make a few paper signs to save you answering the same question of how much over and over.

Label everything with a price, take plastic bags if you have any.
Always unpack carefully, do not allow anyone near your stall until it’s all set up, the professionals crowd you and hassle you as soon as you arrive.
I would take 10 x £1 coins 4 x £5 notes and £5 in 20/50/10p coins.
I use a money belt, if you have a bum bag use it and keep it on!
Pack a flask and some sandwiches.
