Getting lots of missed WhatsApp calls from abroad

This started a few days ago. The calls are all from places I have no links to- Morocco, Madagascar, South Africa so far. The profile picture are either kids or women. Phone rings , then rings off, sometimes rings again. If I Google this phenomenon most of the internet articles about it are from. India where apparently people are being targeted with fake job offers. Don’t know what to make of this. Anyone having the same?

I keep getting similar calls from numbers which I think are from somewhere in the Far East with pictures of women on the profiles too. I have genuinely missed every one ringing but sometimes I even have voicemails! I never listen to them but get them every few weeks in a cluster or two or three, always different numbers and profile pics. Weird!

Yes weird. DH said he thought they were sex workers, grim if they are but I’m not sure, whatever they are I’m blocking them as they come in.

I'm getting this too recently. I thought I'd attached my number to something seemingly innocent, and my details had been passed on idk. I just block them as well.

Just remembered my hotmail inbox has suddenly started getting spam emails from American companies, but the email addresses are Indian (I think). Annoying!!!

I suddenly got porn pop up on my phone, I never browse porn or lend my phone, don’t know if the two are linked, probably not but I feel my phone number is now with some dodgy operators 😕

Oh interesting! I had this today as well completely out of the blue!
