DH and I are going to London for a weekend trip. It's our first night away from DS.

I got a little excited and bought some very high heels as I haven't worn any since before COVID and then had a baby.

They absolutely killed my feet when I just tried them on and I've bought my whole outfit around them. Panic mode.

How can I break them in quickly? Does anyone have any tips on how to stop my feet bleeding by the end of the night?

About to pop to town to get those gel inserts but not sure what else will help.

Just realised I probably should have popped this on style and beauty. Oops

Where are they hurting?

If they're generally just tight heat them with the hair dryer and ram your feet in with thick socks on to stretch them a bit.

If they're rubbing plasters will be you're best bet and if it's your toes/ball of your feet hurting due to the pressure of being high heeled try taking your 3rd and 4th toes together

You can also get a spray that numbs your feet.

In all honestly I'd probably ditch the shoes and find something else. Sore feet is enough to ruin a night out for me

Thankyou so much!

When I tried them on initially they were fine. Not sure if the heat has made my feet swell a little over the last few days.

It's tight where the toes are. I'm going to bring a second pair just in case.

Will be gutted if I can't wear them.

About to go on the hunt for some big socks...

Hopefully you find a solution.

I had shoes for a wedding that felt like the were going to amputate my wee toe. I only realised how bad they are the night before. The hair dryer trick saved the days. I repeated it a few times and they actually turned out quite comfortable and I lasted the whole day.

I don't think there is a quick fix. Either you accept that you are going to be in pain or you don't wear the shoes. Personally I'd wear different shoes. If you wear uncomfortable high shoes then chances are that you will end up walking oddly. It's not a good look.

There are loads of nice shoes about that are comfortable.

Where are you planning on going in them? Just out for dinner or something more substantial

To be honest we will be sitting for most of the time.

I don't want to be that person who can't walk in their heels haha.

I'm about to head out and go on the hunt for some flat shoes in the same colour 🙈
