When does a credit debt show on your history?

Firstly I'm sorry if I have worded my question incorrectly.

I need to remortgage later this year. I also need to renew my car lease.

If I apply for a new car lease soon for it to start in February. When will it show on my credit file?

The reason being, I don't want it to show on my mortgage application in Sept/Oct time as they will say I have too much debt,

It's a lease for my business, I'm a sole trader so will claim the costs. But don't want it to ruin my mortgage chances.

I need to order the car soon as it had a long manufacturing backlog apparently.

The lease won't start until February but am aware there will be credit searches.

The credit search is likely to be a hard search and will appear pretty quickly, then stay on your credit report for up to 12 months.

The extension of your credit won't appear on your report until the lease itself begins.

Thank you, I'm not worried about the credit search, I just don't want an additional £17k of debt against my name just before I apply for the remortgage.

Could you just keep the car you have until after you've remortgaged? Leases are extendable.

I could do I suppose, but my current car is too small and need a bigger one.

I might do if I need to.

They will be able to view recent searches and the car supplier may show. They will
also ask for bank statements for a remortgage and your loan payment will be listed. The only way for it not to show is to wait for a new car once your remortgage is complete.

Yes but the point is the loan payment won't appear on OPs bank statement until she actually gets the car and the lease begins. So if she remortgages in the interim, whilst they'll be able to see the credit search, they won't see any evidence of repayments because they don't exist yet.
