Kendal Calling camping advice

Hi, anybody been to Kendal Calling that can HELP please?
We are going for the first time this year, and are booked in Great Plains family camping field. We didn't buy the Thursday add on tickets; does anybody know if it is likely to be hard work finding a pitch when we arrive on the Friday? Do many go on the Thursday?

Stumbled across this as I'm going again this year I would definitely recommend a Thursday ticket! Just incase you get stuck in queues Friday and then run the risk of missing someone you might want to see playing as they do tend to play from early lunch.

We're going for the first time with the kids this year and are going on the Thursday so we can set up the tent before it gets too full, and to give the kids a chance to acclimatise on the first night while it's not as busy. I was a bit worried about getting a rubbish spec and being downhill in case it rains and we get flooded out, although we've never done Kendal calling before so I'm not sure how likely that is. We are in general camping though, not the Great Plains.

Loads go on Thursday tbh and Great Plains is on a slope so you might struggle for a good spec. Good luck !
