I’m trying to sort parking out for Manchester terminal 2. What is the difference between meet and great and drop and go? Which is easier? It says that neither needs a transfer but I can’t make a decision on which is easiest. Could an actual grown up please tell me which to go with 🙂
thankyou!

Meet and Greet - park outside, leave your car in a line, someone takes your car and brings it back when you return, right outside terminal

Drop and Go - park in a car park, just leave car in a line like Meet and Greet but then get shuttle bus to the terminal

Both are easy!

Cookerhood · 09/05/2023 21:05

I would think drop & go would be easier, you aren't editing for someone to meet you.

Haveallthesongsbeenwritten · 09/05/2023 21:06

Some drop and go are close enough to the airport so you dont even need a shuttle. Its like 5 minutes walk…

Dortmunder · 09/05/2023 21:06

You don't wait for someone to meet you with either of them.

Meet and greet when I flew from MAN in October isn't just a case of parking and handing keys over. We had to go into the terminal and queue to hand keys in, then again to collect at a machine on return. It was a faff tbh and I won't use it again as it was far more time consuming than the old way.

growgrowinggrown · 09/05/2023 21:21

Meet and greet is less faffing and much less walking, drop and go can be a nightmare to navigate and find parking.

Dortmunder · 09/05/2023 21:22

You don't park in a space with Drop and Go - that's long stay isn't it?

DustyLee123 · 09/05/2023 21:23

I got a crack in my windscreen when k did the meet n greet. They tried to get out of it, but they didn’t . I park my own now.

The drop and go is very good. When you come back, you collect your keys from a locker which you have a code for. No messing about ringing meet and greet when you're on baggage reclaim etc

We use a secure park and ride facility. We drive to facility near airport - book car in, leave keys and take our luggage and board a bus which takes us to whichever terminal we are using. On our return, we phone a number who tells us how long and when the shuttle bus is due. At the facility we collect keys and collect car from bay near exit and set off home. Dead easy and everything is safe and secure. No issues if flights arrive back late as they have all flight details etc so no worries if you stay over booked time.

I used AHP parking, which was a drop & go to a secure car park. I'll be using them again.

Can't speak for Manchester but we did this at Glasgow and found it very convenient.

Terminal 2 west multi story is really good parking - you get to park yourself (so no worries about cowboys damaging it) and it's easier to get to that the park and ride car parks.

It's right next to departures (get a lift from your car park floor) and super easy to get to for arrivals too. We parked there last week, parked up, checked in and through security in 30 minutes! Always very easy.

omg the exact same thing happened to me!! What are they doing with these windscreens?!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 09/05/2023 21:46

Some of the parking options just say T1 and T2, what if you are flying from T3, are they easy to move between?

Well, we once had footprints on our roof & windscreen so I presume they park them so close that they have to walk over them.

T1 and T3 are next door to each other.
T2 is slightly further away, by 5 mins.
All are reachable by walking in the overhead walkway that links all 3 terminals to the railway station if it were raining for example, or just avoiding the traffic and the need to cross roads.

Or stay at the Raddison the night before and get your holiday parking in the price. Nice little skywalk to the terminal.
