Would you eat this....

I opened a packet of gammon on Sunday. 2 gammon steaks, I only had one.
Will the other be ok to eat tomorrow? I'm sure I read somewhere you shouldn't eat raw meat which had been opened for more then 24 hours.
It's just in a freezer bag in my fridge in the packaging.
Still in date.
Safe to eat tomorrow?

It's fine.

Gammon steaks will be fine as they are preserved using loads of salt.

If it smells OK and doesn't have a slimy texture when you go back to it then it will be fine.

Thanks all! I think I might be getting confused with chicken?
It is uncooked, raw gammon if that makes any difference?

I also think it'll be fine because of the salt.

Chicken or fish I'd be more wary of

If it was chicken and stil in date and smelled ok I'd still use it too. Gammon steaks are like big slabs of bacon and they last quite a while once opened as they are salty.
