Any ideas why I could have Ulcers in the small bowel- not crohns

I'm desperate for some answers if anyone has any experience of this.

I had a gastroscopy because I have heartburn and nausea. Also a strange taste in my mouth.

The gastroscopy showed throat and stomach were normal. But lots of small ulcers in the small bowel, also swollen and red. Don't think they went in very far with the camera. They took a few biopsies.

They were almost certain it would be small bowel crohns. However my biopsies all came back normal.

FWIW I don't use anti inflammatory pain relief, and don't smoke and barely drink.

Any experiences or advice is very welcome.

Do you mean you have Ulcerative Colitis? I was diagnosed with this a few years ago. I changed my diet after the colonoscopy and have been in complete remission ever since. Mainly I cut out wheat & gluten and then went low carb which is also considered anti inflammatory. I was offered medication that I would take for the rest of my life, but said I wanted to try changing my diet first. I'm in a few keto & low carb groups and many people with UC have seen benefits from cutting out certain foods. Hope you find something that works for you.

Sorry I've just looked it up and realised UC is not usually found in the small bowel. It might still be worth looking at diet changes if you are still suffering.
