Distance learning A-levels?

Has anyone had any recent experience of doing A-levels online, through one of the distance learning companies (ICS, LearnDirect etc)?

My daughter may have to drop out of 6th form due to ill health and would like the option to start A-levels afresh from September.

Also, do you think you would have any problems applying to uni through UCAS if you're doing distance learning? I'm not sure how you would be given a predicted grade. I guess she could sit her exams, get her grades, and apply through clearing when the time comes.

Thanks very much.

Her tutor completes predicted grades from her mock exams.

DD will be doing an additional A level online while taking a year out as she has changed direction. As it’s a science she will do practicals at a school around an hour away and will sit the exam there too.
I think her results will be predicted on mocks and assessments
We haven’t finalised which provider to go with yet though as she will enroll in July
