What can I do with a tin of tuna ?

I'm trying to avoid going and spending money in Tesco so I'm rummaging through my cupboards to see what I have . I found tuna. I also have linguine, Philadelphia. I don't have any jacket potato's or fusili pasta or salad - things I'd normal use with tuna.

Is there anything that I could make?

Use linguine in the same way you would pasta, and combine with the tuna and phili to make a creamy tuna pasta

What other ingredients do you have?

I’d do the same op chuck in some peas if you have any in the freezer too.

Tuna, cream cheese stirred into linguini with oregano, garlic, Italian seasoning or whatever you have really. Loosen with a little olive oil if you have. If you have capers in your fridge, a teaspoon added work well, ditto some lemon juice. I do this dish with smoked salmon but tuna will work. Season to taste

Should you happen to have any sweet potato you could make tuna, chilli and sweet potato fish cakes. These are by absolute favourite.

MrBit · 08/05/2023 18:49

I think you have created a great new addition to my menus @flympssta
The addition of capers is pure genius @gogohmm

Pasta puttanesca is easy to make...good tuna recipe....

Delicious salad - great with baked potatoes:

Flake tuna and mix with finely diced peppers, celery, carrots and onions.
Make a dressing of mayo and lemon juice (or cider or wine vinegar), salt, black pepper, a little chili.
Add parsley if you have it or, alternatively add some dried herbs (Italian mix or oregano) and let them 'stew' in the dressing for a while.
