Starting to think it's a figment of my imagination! I have extremely vivid dreams, well, nightmares, I invent the most bizarre / horrific scenarios in dreamland.. tell me if this exists?!
About maybe 10-12 yrs ago I caught a snippet of a film my then DP was watching. A woman on a train (scene never moved off the train) talking to a man (possibly soldier??) I must have seen to the end as the twist was..that
he was just a torso (alive) in a box?! (but I think possibly she viewed him as complete) (no not getting mixed up with Boxing Helena either! def a man..) I had in my head that it was Keanu Reeves but googling I can't find a film matching this...

ah yes thankyou!! JG not KR. According to the above.. I didn't see the ending then, as he does leave the train?
So glad it's not something my crazy brain invented ;) (I have come up with worse though..)

I'm not into action movies but is this good? Worth watching all of it?

No, it's not that good a film. Basically the train is a sort of simulation where Jake Gyllenhall's character runs around trying to work out who planted a bomb, so that the bomber can be prevented from making future attacks. It's his mind in the simulation, which runs over and over, but his body is in the box in "real life".

The film was made by Duncan Jones who also made the much better film Moon. This one struck me as having studio interference all over it - as if there was a better film hiding somewhere underneath all the gubbins.

thanks, Squiblet. So the body is his? Does he ever get whole again?
Doubt I'll watch it though.. sounds a bit Face Off? As in trying to get into someone else's mind /life

Hmm, can't remember the ending ... but you don't realise it's a simulation till quite late in the movie, so we've basically spoilered it for you now! 😁

I liked it, worth watching

No, the train. It's been a while since I saw it ... Spoilers ... but I think Jake's character was wounded horribly in battle or something. They manage to keep him alive and hook his brain up to a simulator so he can relive the day a bomb went off on a train - with the aim of identifying the bomber. He has to live the day of the bombing over and over in the simulation. You wonder why he's in this groundhog Day situation, until eventually you see his real body and realise the first 3/4 of the movie wasn't actually real.
