Instagram, following someone will they see my Instagram name or my email?

Just wondering! It's a very old bf and I've noticed he is on insta 1000 people follow him if I follow will he see my insta name which is made up or my actual email or will it connect to face book! We are friends on fb

If you follow someone on IG, all they’ll see is your IG username. No email address or anything. However I don’t have Facebook and don’t have a FB account attached to my IG so maybe someone else can answer that question?

Do you definitely have your IG and FB linked?

If you connect your fb to Instagram then he will be able to see that. But on his following list it will just be your Instagram username, no email

As far as I am aware they are not linked and I don't use insta except to follow others. I hate how allowed this stuff is linked!
