Heard noise in bedroom. I am afraid to sleep

I was going to sleep tonight and then I heard some noise from the corner of my room. I do have some storage in the corner. My room is very messy and I am cleaning it in parts. I did some cleaning last week. I did more today. It is looking better.

The noise sounds like plastic. There would be some plastic bags. I doubt the bags are falling.

Now I am petrified of sleeping. In case it's mice or a rat.

I have the window open. I wonder would it be a breeze or a draught coming in?

I am too afraid to get up.

Yeah breeze or draft.
I thought I had a pigeon stuck in the chimney. Turned the lights off. Opened the window. Got the biggest torch I had stuffed it up the chimney to show the pigeon the way out.

it was newspaper rustling in the wind

Were you just on the verge of falling asleep?

It could be Exploding Head Syndrome.
Which sounds very dramatic, but it isn't, it's hearing noises that aren't really there.

During the week, last week, I was going to sleep but I was woken up. I felt something. Felt like something under my pillow or under the mattress. It felt like movement. It didn't last long.

Now this.

I never heard of that before. Is it real?
Does it happen in menopause?

Yes, I was on the verge of going to sleep. I was watching tiktok and my eyes were closing.

Plastic bags can take a long time to fall and make a noise. They've done it to me before. Even days later.

I've been sitting alone in my living room for 3 hours, and a plastic bottle DH left in here just made a huge noise and scared the crap out of me. It was definitely just the bottle being really slow at popping an indent out again though.
