.... (oh it drives me bananasl

I might tie his shoelaces together, shave his eyebrows, drawer on his face in sharpie

I'll probably just carry on doing jobs and start prepping dinner....

I'd be having a long hard look at yourself if you can't manage to entertain yourself for a few hours while your husband is asleep.....
Read a book
Go for a walk
Potter round the garden
Listen to a podcast
Bake something
Watch TV
Paint your nails
Call a friend

BeyondMyWits · 07/05/2023 17:19

I play a PS5 game, he doesn't snooze long with all the shouting and clicking.

Petty... yep.

HippeePrincess · 07/05/2023 17:20

Vacuuming

I think OP meant more in the lines of "nice he gets to have a nap" not "I can't entertain myself"

ConstanceReid · 07/05/2023 17:22

Have a snooze yourself?

read a book, go to the gym, go for a walk, have a bath. Why is it an issue?

Toebrushtoe · 07/05/2023 17:28

I used to keep an arsenal of rolled up socks by my chair, and when he nodded off on the sofa ( which I didn't mind, as he started work at 5 am) but then when he started snoring (which I did mind) I use to chuck a pair of socks at his head. Luckily DH is really easy going and saw the funny side, and now he's retired no more early starts!
He actually manages to watch whole programmes and films now!

Oblomov23 · 07/05/2023 17:31

I MN. Or when Dh watched football, I MN. Works perfectly.

Ahh apologies then, I misunderstood.
I can see why you're bloody annoyed if you're got lots to do and he's having a leisurely snooze!
Definitely do a very noisy job, cut the grass?

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 07/05/2023 17:36

I usually choose that time to start vacuuming or making smoothies for ice lollies with the noisy fast blender. Sometime I put a trail of Dreamies leading to his lap nuts. But I'm horrible 😉

Modaboutyou · 07/05/2023 17:41

I'd probably snooze myself!

In that case, why not having a nap herself?
Or take it in turns? He had a nap today, she has one tomorrow.

I had a lovely two hours nap today. I’m not going to feel guilty about it. I needed it.

RetiredEarly · 07/05/2023 17:49

I think the people who would deliberately make noise are crap tbh.
i do t know about you but I cannot sleep in the afternoon if I’m not tired, Aka if I don’t actually need the sleep.

If he is sleeping now, that’s because he needs it.
If the OP is also that tired, they should take turns (assuming there are children to look after)

Bluebells1970 · 07/05/2023 17:49

I like finding very loud noises on YouTube and accidentally turning the volume up......... it's quite fun seeing what works in making him jump and what doesn't.

The grandchildren like putting things on him, a bit like Buckaroo.

And my personal favourite is completely removing his shoelaces rather than tying them together. Causes most confusion when he eventually gets up Grin

Learn to play the trombone.

dudsville · 07/05/2023 17:57

I was snoozing on the sofa earlier. What's the problem with that?

Malloryhitops · 07/05/2023 17:58

I would 100% join him in the nap 😴

Sockmonkeysloth · 07/05/2023 17:59

Human buckaroo

Eggseggseverywhere · 07/05/2023 18:00

Take a photo.. When my dh sighs and makes everyone hear how shattered he is I produce a pic of him having the nap he always denies he has had....
Now man the fuck up and get busy!

In my old house it was a big problem as the sofa was in the only room of the house that was used exclusively for waking hours and so had the only way into the garden, the only TV, the dinning table, etc so I wouldn't of wanted to try and be quiet when my DH was sleeping in the most inconvenient room in the house whilst I was looking after our 2 young DC.

IfICouldIStillWouldNot · 07/05/2023 18:24

Do a naked fan dance; that'll teach him to snooze in the day time.

(I also love a daytime nap, half an hour post lunch makes me a nicer person).

mysparkleismissing · 08/05/2023 18:57

It was an 'in jest' post sorry if I didn't make that clear

I drank a hot cuppa tea and pottered around.

Some miserable sods on here who think they have the right to ruin an afternoon nap

BillieShears · 08/05/2023 19:20

I've been known to record DH snoring, then wake him up by playing the recording loudly next to him.
