Does anyone use Top Cashback?

I've just downloaded the app and bought something through it and now it says I have £10 pending for my account. This seems a bit too good to be true to be honest and I'm trying to work out how this works? How do you spend the money, is it a voucher or do you transfer it to your bank account?

I've been using it for years.
You'll need to pay £5 a year, which you can do via what you earn.

I've had nearly 2k over the years, defo not too good to be true.

When changing broadband etc, you can get some really good deals.

Enjoy!

Conkerqueen · 07/05/2023 11:03

You transfer it to your bank account. It’s legit! It becomes so addicting and if I’ve forgotten to use it I get so annoyed that I’ve missed out on cashback!

There is another app called cheddar that links to your Debit card and it will give you cashback in shops etc no need to click through an app first -

Oh and it can take a few weeks on topcashback to go from “pending” to “payable” but it definitely will, just need to be patient

I could kick myself - someone sent me a link for this absolutely years ago and I wrote it off as a scam. 🙈

I've used quidco for years, had about 2.5k from it. Well worth doing!

CatOnTheChair · 07/05/2023 11:20

It's brilliant.
Best when you are switching insurances and utilities, but just a gentle drip on much of what you spend.
I've had £100s back.
Takes ages for the money to actually be able to be spent. I'd guess the £10 was perhaps a sign up bonus? I convert to tesco vouchers, which gets you an extra couple of percent, but some stuff can only be transfered into your bank account.

DamnAndDashIt · 07/05/2023 11:24

I've been using it for coming up to a year, just using for my usual online shopping and a couple of online pet products.

I've had £271 paid out, which isn't bad considering I've only been shopping the stuff I would have got anyway

Iwasafool · 07/05/2023 11:24

I use it and I save it for Christmas and get vouchers to help with presents. I've currently got fifty odd pounds paying and another twenty pending. I generally have 3 or 4 hundred for Christmas but I think I'm spending less at the moment so it will be less this year but it all helps doesn't it.

OldTinHat · 07/05/2023 11:25

I use Quidco which is the same type of thing. I've also had just over £2k in the years I've been using it.

caringcarer · 07/05/2023 11:29

I use it through the year then draw vouchers for Xmas each year. It really is free money. Best deals seem to be on car insurance and house insurance. I just switch to a different one each year to get the bonus. Also if you refer someone you will get a referral bonus. Only costs £5 each year.

BonnieBobbin · 07/05/2023 11:30

I tend to use if it I'm buying makeup, IT, chocolate/hampers, etc. You can get vouchers or money back.

SquashPenguin · 07/05/2023 11:48

It’s great, I book lots of hotels and get loads back. Came in very handy whilst renovating the house too- lots of bathroom websites and b&q included. I don’t order anything online without checking too cash back first, some of the most random sites are on there!

Beezknees · 07/05/2023 11:49

Yeah, I use it. You can honestly use it on most websites. I usually make around £100 a year.

Pippippipi · 08/05/2023 10:23

it’s a really useful site with lots of offers running, like today only spend £5 on anything and get £2 cashback. I usually buy an Asda giftcard.

I use it for everything I buy! You can ‘cash out’ as vouchers and the amount is increased. I save through the year then get M&S vouchers at Christmas for a food shop

I use a combination of Topcashback, Quidco and ZIPZERO. If I am buying anything that costs more than £30 or so I will check all 3 and see who is offering the best return for that company as the % can vary a lot.

Conkerqueen · 08/05/2023 10:42

@SgtCatherineCawood thanks! You used to get £2.50 back when someone used the code but now you just get offers 😒

Manicule · 08/05/2023 10:46

Yes, I use it. And Quidco. I always buy my daily train fares through one or the other (currently Top Cashback, as the rate is slightly better) on the grounds that I have to buy a ticket anyway so I might as well get some money back. It’s only pennies but it adds up.

At Christmas I bought most of my family presents through them and things like Look Fantastic had crazy cashback offers, so I got something like £20 cashback on a £50 purchase. It’s DEFINITELY worth doing.

Just remember that if you’re about to buy something online, stop for a sec and check whether you can get cashback on it!

ginghamstarfish · 08/05/2023 10:51

I use TCB but don't pay a fee - I think you can choose.

Pippippipi · 08/05/2023 17:48

Just noticed a good offer on topcashback just now, £20 cashback for your first hello fresh order.

Combine that with the £2 bonus for spending £5 today and you’ll get your first hello fresh box essentially for free! Sadly I’ve already tried hello fresh so can’t use it but maybe useful for someone.
