Embarrassed self whilst drunk

Just posting to share stories really, as I don’t quite remember what happened!

I went out with friends last night, normal night, and got home okay. But when I got home, I started to feel drunk and someone called me. I cannot remember the 20 minute conversation we had and just have a feeling I said something embarrassing as they haven’t messaged me since and I can’t shake an awkward feeling.

Just ask them? Assuming it was someone you know and are close to if not hearing from them since is unusual?

What do you mean you started to feel drunk once you got home?

Message them, apologise for "chatting drunken shite" if you feel you must.

a guy who I was out with called me - he’s a mate/ex-colleague. the rest of our friends who went out have messaged since, sharing pics etc.

I felt normal (a bit tipsy perhaps) whilst out but completely too drunk once I got home and a bit nauseous. Nothing else happened at home aside from the random call though, I just remember ranting about my taxi driver and saying I’m going to order McDonald’s…which I did. I also went to sleep with wet hair which I never do! I only just had it coloured/blow dried at the salon so it didn’t need washing either.

with the call, I would definitely say it’s unusual for our friendship so I’m a bit like “wtf was that about” and what could we possibly have discussed for 20 minutes

How many drinks did you have?

Perhaps he called just to check you got home because he knew you were going to be out of it?

Just a train of thought but I might put it out there if I were you, "jesus I felt fine leaving venue but got home and it was like I had been spiked or something or all six drinks hit me at once. So apologies all for any bollocks I spoke before I left and afterwards, I was an unexpected mess I really was. Sorry again"

No, I didn’t leave any drinks unattended and we both went our separate ways home. I think he was calling to check if I got home safely after my taxi home, he wasn’t trying to invite himself over.

I have a high alcohol tolerance but the group did a few shots so I just think it took a while to hit me. I feel a lot better after posting this thread. I doubt anything unforgivable was said!

I remember phoning someone when I got home years ago, really really drunk, telling him to come over and telling him in detail what I was going to do if he did. Filth. I just styled it out when I saw him next but remember the absolute burning shame when I remembered next day.

Aw, you have The Fear. Could you message him with a casual "hi, how are you today?" just to alleviate your anxiety? If you have a couple of ordinary text exchanges, you will forget all about it. If the conversation lasted 20 minutes, I'm sure you were lucid enough.
