Did anyone do sponsored bounces at school?

Very random question but my first primary school had sponsored bounces every year where they brought a bouncy castle into the assembly hall and you had to see how many bounces you could do in within a time limit.

I'm just curious to know how common they were?

Haha, I never did this but this just made me smile. How many did you manage?

Very few because I was always one of the children picked to count the younger children's bounces and we were allowed to bounce as much as we liked in when it wasn't in use so by the time our turn came, we were all bounced out.

Yes we used to do this, I may be wrong but i think it was around the time of the travelling book fair and bounces helped buy books for the school? Used to doit every year never met anyone else who did too

Ours was on a trampoline. Great fun!

Yes! No bouncy castle though we just had to hop/bounce around the gym half for as long as possible 🤣.

Ems369 · 06/05/2023 16:42

I didn't, but my son did it at school a couple of weeks ago!

I remember doing sponsored silence at brownies and sponsored walk round the field at junior school. Late 70s/early 80s

Onebabyandamadcat · 06/05/2023 16:50

We did! Much better than the sponsored silences they replaced

Yes, in 1999 and 2000 there were bouncy castles brought into school!
