Adding my voice.

Maybe we can fill chat with messages such as this?

(Will they be deleted being a taat before the bullying picture is taken down?)

how many threads do we need before any notice is taken? This is so horrible

MagentaRocks · 06/05/2023 10:09

Agree

NotmykingEatCake · 06/05/2023 10:10

Get rid of the violation of human rights, E.g the arrest of peaceful protesters this morning,

THATS A REAL ISSUE

SummerLakes · 06/05/2023 10:12

As I said in another thread, my nephew has been bullied so much due to a physical feature he can't change. No matter how we all try to teach him to be proud of himself, his self esteem is through the floor.

Agreed. If you wouldn't want this done to your child you shouldn't want it done to anyone.

They’re all issues.

Doesn’t mean we can stand against all of them. I’m not a royalist, but I am anti bullying.

I agree. It's not exactly in the ethos of Mumsnet's "be kind". Regardless of your views of the monarchy, it's pretty bullying

Precisely!

I agree.

However did you all survive the days of Spitting Image?(Assuming that you're old enough to have seen the original)

I see a lot more bullying and nastiness on here than "be kind" tbh.

Spitting Image is of its time. Many things were. When I think of the programmes/ 'humour' that used to be ok… Spitting Image didn’t do that well when it tried to come back. Try applying that statement to racism, sexism or any discrimination that was 'ok' in past tv programmes.

It's not about surviving, it's about thinking in this day and age we can do better.

SummerHouse · 06/05/2023 10:24

Agree it should be taken down.

Qilin · 06/05/2023 10:27

It's gone I think

Your comment makes no sense. Its probably one of the reasons it's not on anymore. Poking fun at someone's looks hasn't aged well so why have you done this Mumsnet? 🤦‍♀️🙄

biehrvduevr · 06/05/2023 10:35

Yes. We know better. Let's do better.

SummerHouse · 06/05/2023 10:36

I think taking it down was the right call. Well done @MNHQ and all those who challenged it. I have made mistakes in my job, I am sure we all have. But for me, it's how we respond that's the important thing.
