Throne is 700 years old so I'm not surprised it looks a bit battered!

Hellocatshome · 06/05/2023 11:16

I understand he cant memorise everything but does he really need to read the card to answer "I will"

MeinKraft · 06/05/2023 11:17

Barbadossunset · 06/05/2023 11:14

I find watching quite stressful in case something awful happens.
My father could never watch Torville & Dean in case one of them fell over and that’s how I feel.

I was just thinking I'd like to watch the queens funeral again now I know it all went ok

polkadotdalmation · 06/05/2023 11:17

Anyone know about the throne? Looks ancient. Surely not 12ish century?

BarelyLiterate · 06/05/2023 11:17

As a Republican and an atheist, all this looks very odd indeed but I’m watching anyway because it’s a historical occasion & I may not get chance to see another.

Spareincoming · 06/05/2023 11:17

Welby’s robes need a fitting and a
run over with an iron!

MidgeHardcastle · 06/05/2023 11:17

Yes, I'm nervous that he's in such discomfort that something will go wrong. His voice is strained

DysonSpheres · 06/05/2023 11:17

floraflo · 06/05/2023 11:14

I wasn't planning on watching every moment of this but I've been glued to the tv since 7.30 and I'm now contemplating taking the iPad with me while I have a quick wee just so I don't miss anything Grin

😂😂😂

Barbadossunset · 06/05/2023 11:17

I’m like that. What if someone faints, what if a wheel falls off, what if Penny drops that sword on his neck?

All of those, and as an emetophobe, a vomiting scene.

BanditsOnTheHorizon · 06/05/2023 11:17

I feel so nervous for him. Bet when he gets home he'll pour himself a huge G&T and say to Camilla 'thank fuck that's over'

KrasiTime · 06/05/2023 11:17

MrsJackGrealish · 06/05/2023 11:16

King Charles looks completely overwhelmed by the whole thing.

Yes bless him. He’s so overwhelmed by it all.

hexsnidgett · 06/05/2023 11:17

I'm impressed the King doesn't need glasses. Laser eye surgery?

PermanentTemporary · 06/05/2023 11:17

Can't beat Byrd.

I thank Charles at least for the absolutely spot-on music choices - I bet they were 100% his.

Mooshamoo · 06/05/2023 11:17

He looks very sad.

I don’t think I could remember my name in his situation. I’d probably have to read the responses too.

DysonSpheres · 06/05/2023 11:17

Welby's voice is very sonorous. He's obviously used to speaking grandly for occasions.

Made in about 1300, used to be gilded but that's faded/rubbed off now. It has some graffiti carved into is by 18th century choir boys as well.

Hidingawaytoday · 06/05/2023 11:18

Thank god the pen worked this time 😆

KrasiTime · 06/05/2023 11:18

I’m recording both ITV & bbc so can rewatch later. Dh thinks I’m sad. He’s on tea duty.

crumpet · 06/05/2023 11:18

MrsJackGrealish · 06/05/2023 11:16

King Charles looks completely overwhelmed by the whole thing.

His sincerity is quite moving

the80sweregreat · 06/05/2023 11:18

The climate preaching from some people does get to me a bit : nearly all those people there flew in , yet they berate us normal folk for having one holiday a year
The pen was ok this time around then
Louis is on his best behavior

Hidingawaytoday · 06/05/2023 11:18

Thank god the pen worked this time 😆

Was just thinking the same! 😂

RealLife101 · 06/05/2023 11:19

I have to move my car in a minute as our road is being closed for a street party. So inconvenient Grin.

DysonSpheres · 06/05/2023 11:19

hexsnidgett · 06/05/2023 11:17

Must be spectacles would have detracted from the majesty of the robes somewhat. I mean what colour would the frames be?

MeinKraft · 06/05/2023 11:19

Louis looks bored. Hope he starts acting up soon Grin
