Throne is 700 years old so I'm not surprised it looks a bit battered!

I understand he cant memorise everything but does he really need to read the card to answer "I will"

I was just thinking I'd like to watch the queens funeral again now I know it all went ok

Anyone know about the throne? Looks ancient. Surely not 12ish century?

As a Republican and an atheist, all this looks very odd indeed but I’m watching anyway because it’s a historical occasion & I may not get chance to see another.

Welby's voice is very sonorous. He's obviously used to speaking grandly for occasions.

Made in about 1300, used to be gilded but that's faded/rubbed off now. It has some graffiti carved into is by 18th century choir boys as well.
