If your children have recently attended the birthday party of a class friend aged 5,6 or 7....what did they give as a present?

Looking for ideas....

TIA

6yo girl - received lots of craft sets, aqua beads, little purses etc

7/8/9yo girl - stationery, science kits

£7-£12 budget depending on how close and usually something consumable or small.

Oh and Polly pocket for 6yo going down well.

I give the same present to everyone for a year then switch! Normally two small things adding to around £12. Takes away the stress. I’ve done usborne sticker books, bath fizz, waboba frisbees and moon balls. I’m thinking cool water bottles next.

I’ve got 12 parties coming up for 6 and 7 year olds! A lot of spring and summer birthdays.

Ive been looking at Orchard Toys games eg: Magic Maths and First Times Tables, and the Usborne Dolly Dressing sticker books ballet fairies/unicorns and those Real Littlies bags. I’m trying to stick to £10 per present.

A "secret diary" notebook with a small lock on was my go to for a while.

£10 in an envelope. Most of these small presents don’t get used.

Money for 6+

Anyone under that got pollypocket, bracelet making kits, barbie, marvel type toys.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 05/05/2023 15:25

Depends
6 year old girl my daughters close to we got a polly pocket
6 year old boy my daughter is just in the same class with spent half the amount on top trumps and a fossil hacking game thing.

I buy smallish Lego sets on offer (so they work out about £8 a set but are worth about £12). Close friends I’d get them something more personal.

Although both my DS’s best EVER present was a £10 book token, so what would I know?!

I used to give an Amazon voucher £10 to a general classmate where the whole class was invited but a £20 voucher to best friends where only 3 or 4 children were invited to an activity with food after. I just never know what they would like or what they already have either. I just thought let them pick their present out themself then they do at least get something they like/want and also have the option, if getting several vouchers, of adding them all together to get a bigger gift.

I was spending approx £15 on presents for my 5 year old classmates. Then I had his party and nearly all of them gave £20 in a card
