Sinusitis?

For the past few days I've had a feeling of inflammation inside my nose, like when you have a cold, but no cold symptoms. Then the last couple of days I've had an unpleasant smell in my nose, like a stale cooking smell 🤷🏻‍♀️ also been very tired and vaguely ill feeling, but have had a really busy week at work so was trying to ignore it.

Then today I've woken up with a really bad headache, centred over one eye, sharp and throbbing. I feel really rubbish, can't do anything except lurk on the sofa, looking at my phone but it's hurting my eyes a bit.

Sinusitis? Something else? Never had anything like this before.
I always thought sinusitis followed a cold. I've googled of course, but cluster headaches also come up and I'm not sure it's that.

Does your face feel bruised to touch? When I had it I was convinced I had bruises on my forehead and cheeks.

Sounds like it could be. Last time I had a sinus infection I had a horrible rotting flesh smell in my nose and felt like someone was hammering nails into my forehead. I got antibiotics.

Yes that sounds more like it! On a Friday before a bank holiday I've blown my chances of antibiotics for a few days 🤦🏻‍♀️ Hoping it will just go away!

Yes it sounds like it, I get it often unfortunately have it atm I've felt awful. I don't always get the bruised face feeling just bad headaches and a horrible drip at the back of my throat. Does it hurt when you lean your head forward or bend down?

I also can barely smell anything!! Except the awful smell in my nose ifyswim?

Poor you. Have you tried a steam inhalation to try and drain things?

There's a sinus nasal spray that might be worth a try if you can get to the chemist? Not antibiotics, but might help relieve things.

Yes! It drowns out all the other smells!

Doesn't hurt more in my face when I bend down but makes the headache worse 😂

Doesn't feel like there's anything there to drain if that makes sense, but it's a really good idea to try. The bad smell seems to get worse in the evenings so I'll do it tonight.

Is under your eye painful where the bony bit is, your cheekbone?

No, pain is in my nasal passages and forehead.
