House going on the market tomorrow - cold feet normal?

We've found and offered on a house and have had to scramble to get ours ready for sale very quickly as a result. The house we've offered on is better as it is bigger, and we do need more/bigger bedrooms in the not too distant future. It's lovely, literally less than 5 minutes away, only house we've seen in 18 months or so that ticks all the boxes and is affordable.

BUT. We have 2 kids with complex additional needs (part of the reason for moving) and this is going to be a huge change for them. While the new house is great, we'd need to do quite a bit to the garden to make it safe for the kids and couple of minor-ish changes to the interior.

Finally, now we've got our house looking the best it's ever looked I'm having wobbles - are we doing the right thing? We've got a lovely plot and I'm worried we may come to regret leaving.

Is this a normal way to feel when putting your house on the market?

I'd say it's perfectly normal. Wait until you get offended every time someone comes to view and then doesn't immediately offer the full asking price 😉

😂 that's so true! I'm torn between hoping that the first viewer offers the asking price and hoping that no-one does 🙈

This is an emotional rollercoaster and we're not even live yet!

@JanetandJohn500 has it right 😆

I think it's completely natural OP, in most circumstances where you've been happy in the house and like the home you live in,why wouldn't a person feel that way or worry giving it up isn't the right thing after all.

It sounds what you're really feeling anxious about though is the actual moving process; ultimately yes that can be difficult but it is temporary and the DC will adjust. In their lives there will always be changes that come about even if you try your best to shield them from them, that's unavoidable.

The right house has come up and your reasons for moving are well considered. To find a home you really like, can afford, that ticks all the boxes and only needs a little bit doing is very lucky really andnot the reality for most. Liking your current home doesn't mean moving isn't right or it isn't time to move on- just that you made the right choice of home when you last bought one.

Thank you ❤️
I guess any change is hard, I will definitely miss this place but you're right that it doesn't mean it's the wrong choice. I'm probably getting ahead of myself anyway, no guarantee anyone will want to buy it 😂
