What’s everyone up to? I’m working Friday & unfortunately Saturday so will have to watch The Coronation on the I Player. We don’t know any of our neighbours apart from the immediate ones who are miserable buggers! So no street party here! Hoping to have a cream tea at DM & DF’s on Sunday, with my brother , DSIL & DN ( is that right for niece?) if they are still down. DD14 is going for yet another sleepover on either Fri or Sat. DH is working Monday & I have no idea what I’m doing yet. Our freezer is being fixed today so at some point, I’ll have to go & replace the spoiled food. It will be nice to eat properly again as we’ve been having things like beans on toast. We did have chippy tea last night though.

I might go to the library. They are having a tea party.

Hello! Love these kinds of posts. I'm watching the coronation but having a pedicure around lunchtime and got a drum lesson as usual in the afternoon. So normal stuff Saturday with the coronation in between. Sunday, my friend's close is having a party. We're all bringing food and there'll be a bbq so that will be nice. I thought I was at work Monday (don't normally work BH but we're changing systems) but now I'm not so will probably have a chill.

Fandabedodgy · 04/05/2023 09:20

It's my Dad's birthday so lots of relatives and a big meal out.

Beezknees · 04/05/2023 09:20

Going for lunch and drinks with some friends on Saturday. DS15 out with mates all day and night, he's home Friday night so might get a pizza. Not much planned for Sunday, DS will probably appear in the afternoon sometime. If the weather is nice I might go for a long walk by the canal with my headphones. Monday DS and I are meeting my mum for a coffee and cake.

Beezknees · 04/05/2023 09:21

Will not watch the coronation as I'm a republican.

Screwedup1 · 04/05/2023 09:22

All i know on Sunday im doing a 5K run 🫣(hopefully i will be getting my first medal!!) and then ill hibernate till im back in work on Tuesday! 🤣

I'm from the UK but live in Germany so no back holiday for us. But I plan to watch the coronation on Saturday...I'm not a royalist but as a historian, I'm looking forward to watching such an event. We have a toddler and a 3 month old so will also likely do a walk / park trip if the thunderstorms give us a break!

OnceAgainWithFeeling · 04/05/2023 10:41

Fook all. (Whilst hoping not to get dragged into work issues around the coronation like I did with the funeral.)

Cheezecake · 04/05/2023 11:45

I wouldn't go to the library, but I'm informed they are not giving out coronation seeds until Saturday. And free food!

Shoxfordian · 04/05/2023 12:08

Having dinner and some drinks at home tomorrow; probably watch some of the coronation until it gets boring; out for lunch Sunday then having drinks watching the concert at home; nothing much Monday

skippy67 · 04/05/2023 12:34

I'm going out with friends for drinks and food. Then later to a Massaoke event at a local venue. Really looking forward to it! DS and DH going to the football, then probably for a drink or two afterwards.

Family dinner on Friday night - weightlifting Saturday morning followed by friends coming round to watch the Coronation on our big projector - a special birthday dinner for a friend Saturday night.

Zero plans at all for Sunday or Monday which is brilliant and the first time in ages we've had nothing at all to do as a family for two whole days.

reluctantbrit · 04/05/2023 12:53

DD will be on a paddle board in the morning and needs to be driven and collected so DH and I will search for a nice cafe and take books. I may watch a bit on the phone or ipad.

In the evening we meet friends for dinner, non-Coronation related. It was supposed to be a BBQ but I think the weather won't agree with it.

The rest will usual weekend stuff and DD will spend 2 days with GCSE revisions.

Anyone else? Xx

Working Saturday. Normal lazy Sunday doing nothing except cooking a roast. Monday I don't know what I'm doing yet, might offer to work if needed as nothing going on round here.

plominoagain · 04/05/2023 19:52

Working on the Coronation . And sleeping . Till Tuesday , then I revert to normal night shift .

Rebelmcstreettuff · 04/05/2023 19:57

Going to a boutique hotel with DH,can't wait for a wonder round the city.
Thai restaurant booked with lots of cocktails, sooooo looking forward to it.
A real treat for us,it was a birthday gift.

Hidingawaytoday · 04/05/2023 20:04

I'm going to watch the coronation on Saturday, DH might watch it too, or he might take toddler DD to the park, depending on what they feel like and the weather. I'll make coronation chicken for dinner, and we might have a cream tea. Sunday/Monday it depends on the weather. There's an event in a local park on Monday with live music and a children's fun fair, so we'll go up to that if it's dry.

regenerista · 04/05/2023 20:06

Away for the weekend for a friend's birthday...I'm not too fussed about the coronation but the rest of them want an afternoon tea party so I'll be joining in for the cake!
