Selling concert tickets...rip off for fans.

I've got 2 sought after tickets that are no longer needed.

I can sell them back to Ticketmaster, but my understanding is that Ticketmaster will then sell them on for the price they're selling at now, rather than the cheaper price I bought them for. Ticketmaster profits go up.

Is that right? This feels really unfair on the fans.

I know I can use twickets, but again, the fans get charged a hefty fee to buy. And twickets are telling me to sell at cost price, rather than current selling price, so what's to stop Ticketmaster buying the tickets to resell themselves at the higher price?

Whole thing is a farce.

Ticketmaster are awful, have a look at the shit show that is their dynamic pricing!

Are the tickets personalised? If not you might be able to sell them through Facebook. A lot of artists have a fan page where fans sell, buy or exchange tickets

Would you buy a ticket from a random on FB though? I wouldn't.

to be honest I just think that’s how it goes, ticketmaster/twickets are going to take a fee but I’ve done resale on both of them and both were seamless and I didn’t lose much money. What are the tickets for by the way, I’m
nosey 😂

I don't think Twickets takes a hefty fee, just a couple of £? Twickets generally fair. And doubtful Ticketmaster would be scouring it for the random odd ticket here and there. I think you're over thinking it. List on Twickets, if in demand someone will have set up a notification and be very happy to snap it up.

Tickets don't charge much to buy tickets from them I've brought lots through them and never paid more than face value.

Chewbecca · 03/05/2023 17:26

Offer them to your friends and family via FB at face value?

XelaM · 03/05/2023 17:27

Try Ticketswap. I don't think they do what Ticketmaster does

Dodgeitornot · 03/05/2023 17:29

I really like AXS but I don't think they work with all venues. Just specific ones. It's not Taylor Swift by any chance? 😂

Jijithecat · 03/05/2023 17:34

Does Scarlet Mist still exist? I never used it myself but I think they were an ethical site.

Gingercatlover · 03/05/2023 17:46

Are they for Coldplay? Grin

Last twickets fee I had as a buyer was £34. It could be more, granted, but a lot for an algorithm to follow it's programming.

It'll be easy enough to sell them... probably with twickets.

The Ticketmaster model of upping the sale price so that they profit from my tickets really chokes in the throat.

In same boat. I can’t use my tickets. Happy to just recover why I spent. Was expecting ticket master to charge a reasonable 10 per cent on top but looks like they will charge double!!

Yes dynamic pricing is terrible - I do not even know how it’s lawful - such a rip off ! As I know to my cost when buying tickets recently.
Bands can opt out of it I understand, and they all should.

If they happen to be for Avril Lavigne in Manchester this weekend let me know 😂

Twickets is great, the extra fees are minimal compared to others. Have you heard about the golden circle bots that buy up the tickets? Radio 4 did a great piece on it

What?!? I’ve used it loads and only paid £2/3 on top.
