My DD (12) is on our family sharing with a child account and has screen time, down time, adult content restriction etc switched on.
Can someone explain why she can visit a web address that we have specifically put on the restricted web site list (AI chat), get a notification that she isn’t allowed on as it’s restricted but can just click a blue link that says “allow access” and get on anyway?
This darn chat website keeps hopping from the restricted to the allowed list because she can just allow it from her device.
I’ve also tried to add a limit of 5 minutes a day but her screen time report keeps coming up saying she’s spent 25 minutes or more on it. How?
What is the point in setting these limits on a child account when they don’t do anything?
For info: we’ve had many discussions about online chatting not being safe and she has no social media but I’m assuming she thinks this is okay as it’s AI. I still don’t like it - who knows who might be reading and able to contact her. Also, as an introvert, I’m worried this is leading to her into a fantasy world.
I’m currently working stealthily to monitor her usage and try to curtail it but I will certainly be confronting her about it once I’ve got more information.
