Party invite advice

Hi,

Just looking for some advice regarding inviting children to party. My DS is turning 4 and we're planning a softplay party. I'm in a friendship group of mums who all invite each others kids to each others birthday parties, it's approximately 10 kids at this point, I also want to invite a few special friends from his daycare, 3 boys he would be close to and has gone to two of the boys parties recently. My DS was recently invited to a little girl in daycares party, he wouldn't be particularly friendly with her and the mother advised she had invited the whole daycare group. Should I invite this little girl to my DS party, I am not inviting the whole daycare as it would be way to many at a softplay party and this little girl will only know my DS and the two other boys who don't seem to play together. I feel guilty not inviting her in a way as she has invited my DS to her party, what do you think?

No, I wouldn't. If the little girl had specifically asked for your son to be invited to her party then fair enough.
When sorting out our DC party my DH wanted to include anyone who had our DC at their party over the pervious year, even if it was a whole class party which most were at the time. Yes, it's a nice thing to do but you'd end up with a bunch of randoms and a much bigger guest list than you want or can afford.
