Recommendations for someone you've found really funny, that I can look up and watch. Trying to laugh more in life!

100% Matt Rife. Go on tiktok or YouTube and check him out. He's is without doubt the funniest guy ever and he's good-looking too so double bonus.

Dave Allen

I saw him live, decades ago and I cried with laughter, but he's long dead

There aren't that many of his old shows on YouTube, either

spanieleyes · 03/05/2023 07:41

I saw Russell Howard live in Los Angeles. I did worry about how his humour would go down there but the audience ( Californians,) loved him. It was a little less explicit than some of his material can be but He was SO funny and his warm up act, who came from Denmark I think, was hilarious too! A great night.

Butteredtoast55 · 03/05/2023 07:42

Bill Bailey was hilarious and incredible musically, although he's a bit eccentric and I guess his humour is not for everyone.
I really enjoyed Jason Manford and Phil Wang but Rhod Gilbert is, hands down, the funniest stand up I've seen (although I'm excluding Victoria Wood from that list as she was more character-driven and, well, a genius who stands alone).

ADogTwoCatsAndAFlan · 03/05/2023 07:42

Dara O'Briaín
Nish Kumar
Gearóid Farrelly
Neil Delamere
Joanne McNally

ADogTwoCatsAndAFlan · 03/05/2023 07:44

Oh, yes, definitely Bill Bailey. And Dylan Moran.

regenerista · 03/05/2023 07:45

Funniest stand up I've ever seen was Rik Mayall, but it was a very long time ago so I'm not sure if it's available on YouTube! Can't even remember the details, just that I had tears running down my face.

MandyMotherOfBrian · 03/05/2023 07:45

Billy Connolly - took my dad to see him years ago at the Hammersmith Odeon. My stomach actually hurt from laughing by the end of it. He’s a genius. I love the way he can start a joke off, leave it, come back and finish it about an hour later when you’ve forgotten about it.

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 03/05/2023 07:46

Russell Kane was the funniest I've ever seen live and he definitely has energy!
