Mortified by painter

We have a painter in to paint the kitchen.

He seems to have spent the whole morning cleaning it and has just asked if I want the tops of the units cleaned as they are filthy apparently.

I'm obviously a slattern.

@LibertyLily I can top that, when I was a typing teenager I kept getting caught out with period overflow and didn't want to put bloodstained knickers in the wash so I used to attempt to rinse them out ( badly) and stuff then down the back of the hot water tank to dry. Which was OK until the plumber found them. My Mother was usually OK about such things but embarrasment must have meant she felt the need to tell me off within range of the plumber, so mortifying !

That should be young teenager not typing.
