Weedkiller spilled all over raincoat.. can it be saved?

Gutted! New Berghaus raincoat in the car boot travelling home. We’d bought weedkiller from the supermarket and the lid clearly wasn’t on correctly so it spilled all over the car boot (luckily waterproof lining) and all over the sleeves of new Berghaus raincoat. Have run it through the washing machine on a 30 wash as per suggestion on the Berghaus website, but it still stinks of chemical. Can it be saved and how?

If you bought it at a supermarket, it was upright in the boot on the way home but the top is faulty so has caused damage then go back to the store and explain. They can do an insurance claim. They should ask you to buy a new coat, bring in the receipt and the damaged one and then refund you for the cost of the replacement.

Or contact the weed killer company customer service directly.

Never thought to do this. You think they’d reimburse?

The one I used to work for (customer service) always did. Go to the customer service desk (if they have one) and ask to speak to the duty manager.
