How many outfits for 2 week holiday in Spain?

2 adults, 4 dcs. The hotel has laundry facilities, so I'm planning on getting at least one wash in while we're there. I was hoping that 7 full outfits per adult and 10 full outfits per child would be enough.

I'll bring 14 pairs of underwear and 14 pairs of socks each. Also, 2 swimsuits per person, and 2 pairs of shoes (1 runner, 1 sandal) each.

Is this enough? For daywear, I tend to wear flowy dresses that can be dressed up or down so wouldn't need to change for evening/dinner wear.

We're going in a few weeks, so if the heatwave keeps up then I may just pack a bunch of swimsuits and nothing else 😂

Yeah that sounds good to me

That seem rather like overkill if they have washing facilities on site. I'd probably bring 1/3s of what you are planning on bringing max.

Whatserblame · 01/05/2023 21:17

Really kpo? I was hoping to do 1 wash, max 2, as the laundry facilities are on site but not in our apartment. If I only took a third of what I've written above, that would equal 2-3 outfits per adult, and 3-4 outfits per child, so I would be washing clothes every 3-4 days, which I think would be a bit much.

You never need to pack for more than a week so 6 outfits plus the one you travel in.

What does "laundry facility" mean? We went to Greece last year and I run out of shorts (got my period) and T-shirts. The hotel priced it at £10/laundry bag. Not to bad I thought.

But, it came back a day late, crumpled as they just stuffed it back into the bag fresh out of the dryer and everything was utterly wrinkled. Nothing like a previous hotel I used the laundry service when I ended up with stains on a dress.

I now pack enough to last me two weeks without wanting to wash anything.

Clothes part sounds fine. Adults will be able to wear everything at least twice, DC slightly less if at risk of spillages.

14 pairs of socks sounds like far far too many though. Do you actually expect to be wearing socks and trainers daily on holiday if it's very hot?

I normally take a few pairs of socks and bring back all but two or three of them unworn.

More clothes for the children if yours are anything like mine.

Sounds like far too much unless you are all particularly messy or are doing lots of hiking and energetic stuff.

5 pairs shorts/lightweight trousers
5 t shirts
7 casual dresses that I can wear at least twice (dinner or day trip)
2-3 swimming costumes
14 knickers
3-4 bras
3-4 pairs socks
Trainers
Smart sandals
Flip flops
Cardigan or light jacket

That's anticipating not doing any laundry.

I find that T-shirts are sweat soaked and smelly at the end of a day wearing them.

Unless I spend the day at the beach or pool, I won't wear anything again.

It depends how you spend your days.
