Stinky football boots

The problem is that he has practice before school and then has to carry his boots round for the rest of the day. He clips them to the outside of his school bag. They HONK! What's the solution?

Proper boot bag with some sort of deodoriser in it?

A boot bag is a good idea. Shuddering at how it will keep the boots damp and smelly, but at least other people will be spared. He puts them on his bag to give them a chance to dry out (rain / dew / grass rather than just sweat).
