Haemorrhoids

Does anyone have any advice about what actually works to get rid of the bloody things, and/or to reduce the pain?

They're quite bad, and exacerbated by IBS.

I've had two failed haemorrhoidectomies and am still in pain and discomfort with prolapsing haemorrhoids. I really don't want to have a third op as it's agony for weeks.

I find warm water effective, but I can't spend my life in the bath...

Forgot to say, in case it's relevant, I'm not pregnant and have not previously been pregnant.

Proctosedyl ointment with the proctosedyl suppositories.

Proctosedyl ointment with the proctosedyl suppositories.

Thanks. Is that over-the-counter or prescription? And for pain relief or does it help reduce?
