Les Mis - sitting on the front few rows?

Has anyone been to see Les Mis and sat in the front four rows? How good were the seats? I'm worried about being too close and having to look up/not getting a good view etc.

We can't sit too far back as my mum has poor eyesight but not sure if we can afford/justify paying nearly double for seats in the middle of the stalls. It's probably the last time my mum will see her favourite show so want it to be a good experience for her.

Can't your mum get glasses?

I've only ever seen Les Mis from balcony seats but I have had front row seats for other shows, and it's hard to take everything in when you're so close/can't see the whole stage.

Thanks @Can2022getanyworse

She has glasses but is 89 and has macular degeneration. She's had operations but they can't do any more for her.

The seats we'd be getting are four rows back so it's not the very front row.

Good to know though

Maybe call the theatre and ask? They might do access seats which makes the mid stalls a bit cheaper.

Theatre monkey and view from my seat are also good for seat reviews

Would disabled seating be better? Then you can normally bring a carer for free.

Is side on better for her? (It is for some people with macular degeneration) if so a box might be worth thinking about. I would agree with talking to the theatre about access arrangements/pricing (sometimes) you can get really good deals this way.

Seen it six times and always sit near the front. Four rows back sounds perfect to me, especially if middle rather than side.

@Gizlotsmum I never knew 'seat view' existed! Thanks for the great tip!

Thanks for the tips. I'll ask her about dude view and look into disability seating

Front middle of the dress circle is the directors seat, so considered the best.

We always sit 3/4 rows back and don't find it too close 👍🏻

I sat in the front row at the theatre in London (can't remember the name of it) we'd been a couple of years previously and sat near the back, which was fine but the front row was fantastic, I'd recommend it.
