What’s Happening In Your House?

Can’t find a thread so thought I’d start one - how’s everyone’s Sunday gone? I worked 5 hours & it was pretty busy but not as crazy as I thought it would be for a Bank Holiday weekend. Popped to Tesco Express for picnic stuff afterwards - we’re hoping to have a walk through the woods/ by the river tomorrow & see the bluebells. This is my favourite time of year. Collecting DD14 from the station in a bit. She’s had a weekend sleepover with her “ girlfriend “ & will probably be shattered. Picking up McDonald’s for her whilst DH & I are having sausages, chips & beans. Our fridge/freezer isn’t working properly & we have to wait until Tues for the engineer so hopefully we won’t lose too much food. We might be able to claim on the house insurance. Might watch a movie later - a colleague has lent me the first Fisherman’s Friends film on DVD. I saw the musical recently & it was absolutely brilliant!

Boring one here (my favourite kind of a Sunday to be honest!). Dh was hungover this morning, I took the dc to the game shop at their request then dropped one of them to work.
came home, dh was up making lunch for us and then we all went in the hot tub.
This afternoon I’ve been sorting out my makeup drawers, ds has been on his games and now dh is finishing cooking our dinner.

We’ve been to a children’s attraction today in the rain. Came home and all lay around then I fed the kids. I’m not hungry and have a migraine.

trying to get the littlest to sleep, then it’s the older ones turn. Can’t wait to put my pjs on and have an early night.

hoping to feel better tomorrow (my health anxiety has also raised its ugly head, I’m worried my frequent migraines are something else). Need to really get on top of the housework but haven’t got the motivation, but my anxiety is worse when the house isn’t in order! Viscous circle 😞

Hope the freezer is an easy fix OP - and that you manage to save most of the food!

It’s been a lazy one here - both DS’s are shattered after seeing their grandparents yesterday and not been overly enthused to do much today. DH is away, so it’s just been the three of us playing in the garden between rain showers. Homemade apple crumble for dinner, I’ve justified it with that I’m tired and there’s fruit in it. DS2 is in bed and sitting with DS1 till he nods off - he’s finding DH being away quite tricky and is quite clingy at the moment.

Then I’ll be cleaning downstairs, cracking on with uni work and then shower and bed. Maybe a bath if I get my shit together quick enough.

Oh. And a bee stung me in the knee today 😤 and the muscle feels all weird and achey.

We were out and about Today for a few hours, there’s been a local arts festival this weekend so a friend and I took the kids to some of the family activities then to play games at the local amusement arcade. Cooked a roast dinner when I got home and now sitting with a glass of wine watching the snooker while the kids are upstairs watching Matilda the musical (only £1.99 to rent on prime video). I’m off work all next week so trying to decide if I should be productive and get caught up in jobs at home or have a lazy few days while everyone else is out the house.

Not a lot happening here, horribly cold and wet morning so hoovered through and did the ironing while DH walked dog.
Cooked an easy lunch, cba to do a roast, and spent the afternoon reading the papers before walking DDog.
just had a long bath, reading a book in bed because my back aches.
Tomorrow I hope to spend gardening, I have a border to plant up, an area that needs a good tidy, a few tubs to sort out and then hopefully the back garden is done.

cptartapp · 30/04/2023 20:13

Cleaned the bathrooms and hoovered round this morning, watched F1 and the football and then out for tea with both DS. DS1 goes back to uni tomorrow. He's been here a month and I'll miss him.
Just had hot shower and relaxing.
Must remember car is in the garage early tomorrow for new tyres.

frozendaisy · 30/04/2023 20:14

Everyone else had stuff to do out of the house so I sorted some charity shop bags and made a new dish based on Persian flavours so the house currently smells of cumin, cinnamon, turmeric and apricot, heaven in a pan.

caringcarer · 30/04/2023 20:15

Just got back from a cricket festival, son played. Started at 11am and finished at 4.30. Not much time for anything else. Watched some football on TV.

Currently trying (and failing) to get 5 month old DD down for the night. We’re in the thick of a sleep regression and my god it’s brutal.

AssertiveGertrude · 30/04/2023 20:22

We are relaxing today after a busy couple of days and birthday party. Kids are making Lego sets and I had a Prosecco and Netflix. Dh is making potato bread.

autumnboys · 30/04/2023 20:23

Very churchy day. We all went this morning and most of us stayed for lunch, middle DC was elected onto the PCC and then I took him to work. Oldest teen is back there now to lead the band.

Did some gardening this afternoon, now lying on the sofa with a g&t. Very glad tomorrow is a bank holiday!

Commonsensitivity · 30/04/2023 20:33

Took the dcs and dogs to the local park. There was a free band playing and we took hot choc in flasks. Eldest ds was extremely moody. Not sure what's going on with him at the moment. He was hard work. Tried to have a spend free day but a but scuppered by a lovely jewelry stall at the park. Came home and made salmon paella for my parents who are visiting. Kids had nuggets and chips. Ddogs are fast asleep. Just about to kick kids off the Internet. I expect some resistance.

mondaytosunday · 30/04/2023 20:40

We are relaxing having just had dinner watching Friday's Masterchef, now watching second season of 24.
Today I had my stepson, his partner and daughter for a visit, which meant tidying up the house and getting the cushions out for outdoor furniture. Before that it was trip to Hobbycraft for a few things as my daughter had her Art A level starting Tuesday. So happy tomorrow another day off to chill!

AllIeveknewonlyou · 30/04/2023 20:42

Not much really, I visited elderly relative to take her out to lunch. It's a beautiful journey there through the countryside. There was a bit of screaming about wheelchairs as she's not very patient about me navigating doors and the wheelchair at the same time. It can be tricksy!

I'd organised for some new bedding to be delivered to hers but luckily it came at 3.30pm which gave me enough time to hop to the supermarket before it shut at 4pm then I went back home.

mondaytosunday · 30/04/2023 20:43

Has. Darn. Also really nice weather here (London).

delilabell · 30/04/2023 20:50

Very envious of the boring (blissful weekends) spent the day helping to pack my mom and dads. They're dreadful hoarders of antiques and I don't see how it's going to fit into the bungalow theyre downsizing into. Got home and stripped two more walls in sons bedroom. Had dinner and dd(7) got home from friends cranky and tired and full of cold. So waiting for her to settle to sleep as I'm putting the laundry away in our room. Should now be peaceful but can hear ds on his xbox with his friends. He's got persistent vocal tics which our worse when he's stressed, excited or tired and They're so loud tonight. I know I should be more sympathetic but struggling with the noise tonight!

MyMachineAndMe · 30/04/2023 20:57

Dh went to do something to do with his volunteer work but no other fucker turned up so that was his Sunday wasted.

I have tidied the house for it to be made messy again when dc brought their friends back. They've now "tidied" it again. Fuck it now. I'm having a cup of tea and not doing anything else.

This was me earlier with me 5.5 month old. Finally got her down 15 minutes ago and at a loose end with what to do. Left my book upstairs and don’t fancy going back up to get it. Have a hundred chores to do and don’t fancy doing them either.

Silkierabbit · 30/04/2023 21:37

Quiet one here. Had a bbq for lunch for first time this year, lamb kebabs, coleslaw with raisins, giant mushrooms, mint potato salad then ice creams and homemade biscuits.

Did hoovering and carpet cleaning of upstairs. DH mowed back lawn.

DD did her punting job and earned lots of money. DS was ipadding and TV.

The cat was very happy all day, he's always very trilly.

Watched Farmer wants a wife Australia.
