Tetris Dual - help

Does anyone have this game? Got it for DS for his birthday and can't work out how to get the tetriminos out of the tower without them falling out of the bottom and going everywhere

Am I missing something?

I have and all the videos seem to end when they've finished playing but not packed away. Seems like such a stupid design I'm sure I'm missing something

However the slider to mark the rows also doesn't stay up so maybe it's just crap

I think we just tip ours upside down?

It's just badly designed I'n afraid! There is not good way to get pieces out. Quite fun to play but it is not well designed to use.
