Summer holiday with older teens

DS & DD will be 18 and 16 in August. Really don't fancy a holiday surrounded by kids (no offence), but I do want them to have the opportunity to socialise with older teens/younger adults. Where should I start looking?

Why? Can you not go anywhere as a family? They have other dc at school for most of the year. You are only talking about 2 weeks! We looked at Families Worldwide and they might have teen departures. Might be booked up though! Try activity holidays like Costa Rica. Or a mix of city and beach.

I'm considering our next holiday will be to somewhere with a min child age restriction e.g. 14.

Not sure how I'll find those but they do exist.

Oh for God's sake @TizerorFizz 🙄

Cruise

InspiredToBoot · 30/04/2023 16:18

@Summerof76a, right?? I had even started constructing a reply explaining myself and then I though WTF??

A cruise doesn't appeal I'm afraid, but a holiday with a min age restriction of 14 does! Any particular recommendations?

At 16 I still enjoyed the Eurocamp style holidays

produ · 30/04/2023 16:23

Or a city/beach place eg Miami, Aruba, Baja California so they can go out but you can still relax?

Tui do adult only hotels from age 16+
You can get some good deals even if it's the school holidays because no appeal to younger families.
Cala d'or is lovely but safe lots of nice bars, cafe's restaurants. Not wild nightlife but definitely not boring. We've been a lot and took ours when they were teens, they went off on their own some nights no problem.

I think some destinations seem to attract more young adults. Costa Rica was good for that, probably due to ziplining element with age restrictions and things like whitewater rafting as well as rainforest and wildlife.

Not been but came across this in Austria which seems to be aimed at older teens, https://area47.at/en/

Generally I choose teen type activities. Maldives didn't have many young kids in but as more adults than older teens.

An activity holiday.
