........ whatever next?!

This is not inclusion, this is asking for adulation - to hell with that!!

katyperryseyelid · 30/04/2023 10:40

Nah, fuck that.

As much as I would like the lot of them not to exist, I can’t do anything about it. So I just ignore the whole thing.

TizerorFizz · 30/04/2023 10:41

Well we won’t join in. If others do, that’s up to them. No sitting on sofa here and and pretending we are involved.

TizerorFizz · 30/04/2023 10:43

I won’t ignore it as it’s not happened before in my life but I’m not a fawning sort of person. None of us are. However I’m going to watch even if we don’t like some of it. The music might be good!

ChocAuVin · 30/04/2023 10:45

Yeah… no.

AgentProvocateur · 30/04/2023 10:46

No. That won’t be happening in our house.

BeeCucumber · 30/04/2023 10:46

I’ll make sure my forelock is ready to tug.

LlynTegid · 30/04/2023 10:47

I won't be, but I'd rather pledge allegiance to King Charles III than say President Blair or President Johnson.

Annoyingwurringnoise · 30/04/2023 10:47

Who does he think he is, Henry VIII? It’s not for me, no.

DisforDarkChocolate · 30/04/2023 10:48

Feck no. I'll be watching to see the nice frocks arrive and then switching off. I'll also be going to work.

notprincehamlet · 30/04/2023 10:50

I'm not a big Elvis fan so no

Valour · 30/04/2023 10:51

Absolutely mad idea. I'm surprised that their PR team didn't advise them that this will be unpopular...

3peassuit · 30/04/2023 10:52

Not in my house. Stupid idea.

jlpartnerrs · 30/04/2023 10:54

What century are they living in?

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 30/04/2023 10:54

Ridiculous. Who would go along with that? He must be mad. What on earth are the PR team doing?

Willowkins · 30/04/2023 10:57

I think this will focus the protest. He must believe that he's literally God's gift.

TheApplianceofScience · 30/04/2023 10:59

Good luck with that, I am intrinsically a republican but regard the Royal Family benignly ………Until now.

Gilead · 30/04/2023 11:00

I’m a citizen not a subject.

StoatofDisarray · 30/04/2023 11:01

What's this?!

Mischance · 30/04/2023 11:01

The music will be worth a listen, so I will have it all on in the background.

I am staggered that he thought this was a good thing - what planet is he on?

OP posts:
Jonei · 30/04/2023 11:02

He can fuck off.

KingSpaniel · 30/04/2023 11:02

7 posts in and we got the bullshit “President Blair” already! Jesus that must be a record 🤬.

The argument not to have a monarchy doesn’t hinge on a prime minister that left office 15 years ago 🙄.

No wonder we still have a monarchy if that’s the level of critical thinking around the alternative 🤷‍♀️.

Mischance · 30/04/2023 11:05

StoatofDisarray · 30/04/2023 11:01

What's this?!

Those present in the abbey are invited to pledge allegiance to the king and those of us watching at home on the TV are also invited to join in....... "A chorus of millions of voices" FFS!

Here it is: "I swear that I will pay true allegiance to Your Majesty, and to your heirs and successors according to law - so help me God."

It is called the Homage of the People - beyond belief really.

Anewuser · 30/04/2023 11:05

It’s “All who desire”, so if you don’t desire, don’t say or don’t watch. It’s not a difficult choice.

Willowkins · 30/04/2023 10:57

I think this will focus the protest. He must believe that he's literally God's gift.

I think he sees himself as a Jesus figure, as he's apparently going to say, "I come not to be served, but to serve."
The whole thing is nuts.
