Where can you find 'cheaper' holidays online?

Literally this! How and where do you lovely people source a reasonably priced holiday abroad for 2 adults and 2 kids ages 9
And 11? Every where I try seems extortionate (£5k) but yet people seem to mange to get away. Can anyone guide me please ?

Think the problem is we live in Belfast and we are disadvantaged with this stuff 😢

I just literally search the exact same holiday on lots of different sites. Then pay for it in instalments

Where and what are you looking at? I don't think there is a magic cheap holiday. Think of alternative:

Self catering - low key breakfast and lunch in the apartment and dinner out.

Lower star rating : Kids won't know it not a posh place as long as it's warm and there is a pool and inflatables they'll have and incredible time.

Spain and Portugal are short flights and cheaper

Greece is really fashionable this year so £££. Turkey / Tunisia will be cheaper than Spain most likely.

Go term time after sats if they do them in NI.

When and for how long? Board basis?

2.5k 3* Menorca for a week from Belfast

Depends what you want- More than likely not this if it's coming in at 5k!

try cheeky trip fb page,..love holidays...on the beach etc. Stay as flexable as you can, be careful of add ons A good one I found recently Venture travel was worth a look too.

Thanks everyone. I work in a school so unfortunately I can only do July august. Not fussed on where but I'd probably like all inclusive ( think the kids will eat and drink non stop)

I paid £4.5k all inclusive august Portugal. I personally think holiday prices have increased in price this year along with everything else. But as I pay in instalments I don't mind too much as long as we have a nice holiday. We haven't been abroad since Covid.

Might be worth looking from Manchester if you can get a cheap flight over beforehand . I agree that you will have fewer options from Belfast

I source well priced holidays in July and August by booking all the parts myself such as flights, car hire or transfer and self catering apartments.

Of course it's going to cost a lot if you are looking at all inclusive hotel complexes in school summer hols.

AffordAbroad are pretty good at putting together really cheap, yet interesting holidays.

Look on Jet2 - put in all destinations then order the results cheapest first. Just had s look snd definitely ones on there end july for just over 2k.

Ryanair/Skyscanner for flights and Airbnb/Booking .com for accommodation. Always better value and more customisable than some package holiday.

£5k all inclusive for a family of four in the school summer holidays sounds about right to me. Prices have gone up a lot the last few years.

October holidays could be an option, but school holidays are always at a premium.

Holiday pirates do some great deals

Airbnb - you get cheaper deals further away from the coast, if you like exploring and hire a car this isn't a problem

A week in October half term can be 1/4 of what you'd pay in August and you can still find somewhere hot.

We've used Avios point and Tesco vouchers to keep costs down sometimes

Are you only booking now because demand drives up price. Book 9-10 months ahead.

That Rory's travel has some good deals from Ireland . I seem to do better on the easyjet app than the others. Also tui app has late deals . Eurocamp can work out cheaper for families in their caravan holidays if that appeals ?

You’d have to get to Dublin but the savings you could make would probably be worth it.

This is an example of an all inclusive stay you could put together yourself - it comes in at £2741, although that doesn’t include luggage or seat selection which you can still add on.

For me I book really far ahead, often a year in advance. We're staying in a 5 star all inclusive in Turkey for 11 nights for £4.5k (family of 4). Same holiday was £6.5k recently.
We tried to do something relatively cheap last year - 2 weeks Eurocamp in France - but by the time we'd hired a car (extortionate post-Covid prices), petrol, ridiculous food prices..you name it...we somehow paid over £6k. So I booked Turkey the minute we were home to lock in the price.

Might try Eurocamp again next year but I'll be booking in October when everything released.

I look at on line websites (the less well known ones like love holidays and teletext) I will find hotels I like, then look for cheapest deal.

Last august we did a week in Spain 4* self catering plus flight for £400 each.

This Easter we did a villa in Portugal through air bnb for £330 each. (Inc flights)

Are you wanting 14 nights? If not you could look into going during May or October half terms. Cheaper than peak summer holidays and depending on where you go it can be lovely weather.
