Is it my imagination or are we seeing more 'William and Kate' headlines all the time

I'm wondering if I'm just noticing it more now I've thought of it- like when you buy a new type of car and you suddenly see that car everywhere- or do you think there's more headlines about them? (I find them bland and don't really want to see them in the news every day.)

There is a coronation soon. In a couple of weeks it will be back to normal.

Gingerkittykat · 29/04/2023 21:43

Yes, there have been loads of articles fawning over them lately.

carriedout · 29/04/2023 21:45

Yes seems a lot.

Important for the brand.

They are going through a work period, it is not even term time working. They are quite lazy compared to other Royals and this was the case before any pregnancy or children were around.

They will take the summer off you watch.

LovePoppy · 29/04/2023 21:48

There definitely seems to be a PR press happening right now

EdithWeston · 29/04/2023 21:48

Confirmation bias.

There's pretty consistent low-level coverage, so if you start thinking about them, you'll see coverage of them. And Royal coverage is generally up ahead off the Coronation.

Yes I should think they'll take the summer off to spend with the kids at the stately home or go on holidays or whatever it is that they do.

They did this before she was pregnant or they had children, they never did much work and I don't think that will ever change, the are called the Duke and duchess do little, they are naturally lazy. I actually like Catherine, she has always been work shy though.

I am not keen on Charles, he and Anne like QE2 packed in a lot of annual engagements and for that reason they were better value for money.

They are working royals, they don’t get to take the summer off. How can you not know that 😂

QueenSmartypants · 29/04/2023 21:59

The Daily Fail has definitely ramped up coverage in the last few months. Their website reads like a fawning Palace Newsletter.

polkadotdalmation · 29/04/2023 22:00

I think they're just doing a bunch of stuff after the holidays. Had a few weeks off now back to work.

LadyKenya · 29/04/2023 22:00

What with the coronation costing £££ it is all good pr for the rf, to trot out regular news, photo's, whatever, of Will, and Kate.

Actually this seems most likely. They're usually in the press

They don’t seem to have anything whatsoever planned over the next 8 weeks.

Compare them with Princess Anne, or Sophie and Edward.

HolodayPictures · 29/04/2023 22:04

Engagements last year the year

453 Anne
373 Charles
166 lazy as fuck Duke of woke do little

mrsgreggspastry · 29/04/2023 22:07

What counts as an engagement- for instance going to a film premiere? doing a zoom call? or is it going on the walkabouts and cutting ribbons?

I think the different seniorities of Royal get different amounts of public notice of engagements for security reasons

Telephone calls and zoom meetings have all been listed on the engagement calendar in the past.

So, 166 “engagements” over the course of a year, some of which involved simply answering his phone when it rings.

HolodayPictures · 29/04/2023 22:11

I predict a cluster of about three engagements post Coronation then there will be nothing until September.

The King has some engagements on there…

A good few engagements will be lectures on how we should live a low carbon lifestyle whilst Willy shoots about in his helicopter.

I don't dislike them, the pair of them are lazy as fuck though and he is full of double standards, they always were lazy before children, Kate does about the same work levels as she did before marriage.

Diana was always working like Anne and Chales.

William is out paced about 4 times by pensioners.

Armeins · 29/04/2023 22:21

I've noticed that they seem to cram their work engagements into a couple of weeks where they get photographed every day and then they do nothing for ages.

That's always been the pattern.

Total engagements, both in the UK and abroad, during 2011

The Queen - 370
Duke of Edinburgh - 330
Prince of Wales - 601
Duchess of Cornwall - 250
Duke of York - 455
Earl of Wessex - 374
Countess of Wessex - 191
Princess Royal - 568
Duke of Gloucester - 251
Duchess of Gloucester - 155
Duke of Kent - 211
Princess Alexandra - 118

Prince William undertook 90 engagements, despite also working full time. Catherine has undertaken 34 engagements since appearing in the Court Circular for the first time on 4 June. Prince Harry undertook 16 engagements while also working full time.

They had their first baby. They are lazy as fuck.

Woodywoodpeckerharrison · 29/04/2023 22:27

I just can't take them seriously. When they turn up to kick off their 'initiatives' I just think some poor sod has done all that work while W&K play dress up. The business ones are the funniest where they walk into an office and take a phone call while being photographed Confused

Nothing against Kate and I am sure she is nice but she is no role model for women that's for sure. It's a shame as I think she is quite bright and could have been successful in her own right.
