What can I do to feel better by tomorrow?

I’ve had a horrid cold since Monday, it’s got worse and worse. I do feel slightly better today after actually sleeping last night. But still have awful cough and sore throat.

I have a wedding to attend tomorrow, I really want to go, not least because I’ve bought a new dress and shoes and I never get to go anywhere dressed up!

I am planning to rest all day, drinking lots of water and taking all the cold and flu remedies. Is there anything else I can do to shift this thing?

Hot hot bath, always helps shift my colds!

Oh yes I had a hot bath yesterday. I’ve had a very streaky shower this morning to try and shift it off my chest.

Hot bath, hot curry and Sudafed. And lots of sleep.

Have you tested for COVID?

I’ve done two covid tests, one on Monday and one yesterday and both were negative. It’s just a demon cold it seems.

I will of course test again tonight or tomorrow before I go, but pretty sure it isn’t that.

Tuck yourself up for an afternoon nap with a hot water bottle. Hope you feel better for tomorrow!

Fresh ginger tea with lemon and honey always helps me feel better

efeslight · 29/04/2023 12:45

And curry as already mentioned

I swear by Echinacea for relieving the symptoms - that grotty shitty feeling you get. I always took them when I got a cold whilst working with children and it got me through the day.

I normally make up a couple of drinks a day of the effervescent vit c tablets (I think they are 1000 mg) - helps the cold to get better, then lemsip drinks to feel better.

But try and distance yourself from the other guests a bit if you can !

Have you access to a sauna? It might help.
