Primark child clothes sizes

Has anyone else noticed that Primark seem to have made their child's clothes sizing a lot more generous?

My daughter is fairly petite, but could always get the 'correct' size in age (sometimes even size up) for her in there.

Recently though, the clothes seem to be swamping her. She's just about to turn 9, and 7-8 jeans are practically falling off.

Not a huge problem, I could just size down, but her size is something she's quite sensitive about so don't think it'll go down well.

Yeh, Primark have really gone large with the kids sizes. Got a dress marked 5 last week. She’ll be 7 soon.

I don't trust Primark sizing to be consistent at all, whether adult or child clothing. The kids stuff is definitely larger than the label states, more often than not. But more than once I have seen disparity between individual items, eg two ostensibly identical jumpers, both labelled age 8, but one noticeably larger than the other. Either the factories aren't very careful with putting the correct labels on items, or they are careless when cutting fabric to size?

As a result, I always make sure to try on (or get my kids to try on) anything from Primark before buying!

Primark sizes (for kids and adults) are not consistent at all
my DH got 2 pairs of shorts, same size and model, different colours, one was a good fit (bit large) the other was so small he couldn’t even pass his hips…
