Have I forgot anything for this barbecue?

I’m hosting a barbecue on Sunday. There are about a dozen people, know I know from a hobby, so they’re friends but only a couple are good friends. I feel quite nervous about it all now in case it’s terrible and no one has a good time.

Have I forgot anything? Is it enough? I’d be mortified if I ran out of anything. There is one vegan but everyone else is a meat eater.

Potato salad (vegan)
Chicken legs
Feta salad
Another vegan salad
Pasta
A cheese and ham board

And on the barbecue

Corn on the cob
Halloumi
Chicken/vegetable skewers
Burgers
Sausages
Considering salmon parcels

Obviously with buns and condiments.

A cake selection from Costco, and barbecued pineapple and banana.

Then wine, Prosecco, lager, vodka, gin, lemonade, coke, tonic, cordial.

Lots of ice.

A gazebo for the rain that’s forecast.

Am I forgetting anything? I don’t want to spend ages at the barbecue and miss talking to people, so any tips on how to get the burgers and sausages quickly out of the way rather than having to stand over the barbecue cooking endless batches would be appreciated.

Vegan sausages?

BlackeyedSusan · 29/04/2023 00:05

Plus if you want something easy cous cous made with a couple of sachets. add some chick peas and sultanas. (Moroccan flavour)

Sounds lovely!! Pretty please can I come? 😊.

To speed things along with the meat, chicken ok in oven first then put on bbq, you will know it is cooked through properly and still taste exactly like bbq only cooked 😁

Cook meat in oven that was meant to say!

AdaColeman · 29/04/2023 00:22

I agree about cooking your chicken & sausages in the oven. Do them like a tray bake with some BBQ sauce or honey & herb marinade.

Pineapple. Nothing tastes better than barbecued pineapple. Maybe either big mushrooms, or vegan sausages, for the vegan?

HermioneKipper · 29/04/2023 00:41

Do any vegan stuff in the oven so it doesn’t touch the meat.

maybe get a vegan sausage/burger too - they’re easy to get hold of.

all sounds great! Have fun!

Am I forgetting anything?

My invitation!! 😁 It sounds delicious. I'm sure they're all going to be impressed and have a great time. Enjoy. 🍔🥂

Ask the vegan what type of sausage/burger type thing they like and either ask them if they'd mind bringing it, or get it for them. Otherwise, they only have potato salad, the other salad, corn and bread, no main protein thing.
