I just signed off an email to a group of about 15 people - including three members of my senior management team - with "Enjoy weekend head".

Fuck.

When I realised my mistake, I just ran away and closed my emails down for the weekend. I'm now drinking wine.

I keep going all hot when I remember my mistake.

Please make me feel better.

Me: "Hi all, on the subject of [actually important business], we can now confirm that send"

Actually important client: "Hi, my name, you may have hit send instead of save? I'm assuming "what we have negotiated during our phone call earlier today?"

Me: *absolute cringe - big black hole, where are you when I need you?"

Also me: "Hi [actually important client], Please accept my apologies for [earlier email mishap]. I am happy to inform you that I can now confirm [agreement to terms of actually important business deal that I had fully intended to express in my initial email - except: I may or may not be an idiot who has issues with Outlook].", Kind regards, [idiot who fired off incomplete email - a.k.a. me!]

It's not that bad! I sold 10 million that day despite having totally screwed up my emailing!

Not a work email, but the head of my daughter's school left after just one term recently. The school notified us by email and my husband read it first and forwarded me a 'should we be concerned about this?' email. I read the email notification and replied to my husband to say that I thought it was probably all ok and legit because of the reasons given. I then received a reply from the school thanking me for my kind words and saying they would pass my comments on to the teacher in question 🫣! I never admitted the email had been intended for my husband and I'd hit reply instead of forward....
